FitBit Flex Review

Today is all about the FitBit Flex!

I love testing out new products – Especially awesome fitness gadgets that are fun to share with you on the blog!

FitBit Flex

I recently teamed up with the lovely folks at Verizon Wireless to work on a few projects together and they asked if I would be interested in testing out the FitBit Flex for review.

Obviously, I was all over that!

The FitBit Flex is a wireless activity + sleep wristband. It does so many amazing things to help you stay on track with your workouts and healthy lifestyle – it’s a pretty amazing thing!

Flex

The FitBit Flex tracks steps, distance, calories burned and active minutes throughout your day. You wear the slim wristband device all day, every day – for me it was great motivation to get out there and get active!

During the day you can set goals and the Flex wireless syncs with your smartphone, computer or tablet so you can see how you are doing throughout the day. The below photo is what the app looks like from my iPhone – as you can see, on this day I was in the green & meeting my goals for the day – when you haven’t met your goal yet the colors change from red and yellow so you know you still have a little moving to do!

Flex Day

Wireless Wristband

Like I said before – you wear the wristband all the time – {even in the shower!} and all through the night. One of the features I was most excited to test out was tracking my sleep cycle. It was crazy to see how restless I was on so many nights, tossing and turning – I know most of this is due to my pregnancy & as I grow the baby bump is getting a little harder to get comfortable each night – and you can see when you were awake too {aka potty breaks for me!}

I have been trying hard to catch up on my sleep while pregnant – most nights I get in bed between 9/10pm, watch a little TV before falling asleep – and I have been pretty good about getting at least 8 hours, which I am proud of! {Trying to get as much sleep now as I can!}

Sleep Pattern

Another awesome feature the FitBit Flex is that you can also track your weight, food intake, create a food plan and how much water you drink. For me, I love keeping lists like this to ensure I am getting the right nutrients and fluid throughout the day – and something like this, easily accessible on my iPhone keeps me accountable throughout the day.

I am not keeping track of my food intake so much now that I am pregnant, just focusing on eating healthy & getting my fruits, veggies & protein in each and every day – but keeping track of my water was awesome!

Goals

I loved testing out the FitBit Flex for a few weeks – it was awesome to keep track of my activity throughout the day and get a better idea of what my sleep cycles are like on a daily basis. Something like this totally motivates me to be “in the green” each day so I found myself looking for more ways to keep moving each day! Such an important thing for me, as I get further along in my pregnancy.

Thanks Verizon Wireless & FitBit for letting me test out the Flex!

    I really loved my jawbone but it only survived for about seven months and I haven’t replaced in 🙁 but the flex looks to be a great price point maybe it would hold up longer

    Wow, what a neat device! I’ve never seen anything like it, but it looks so interesting and definitely a great resource.

    I’ve gotten away from tracking my calories (because I can get a bit obsessive with it) but I would be very interested in seeing my sleep patterns and how much I actually moved during the day.
