Day 2 at The Cove, Atlantis was just as fun as Day 1. Charles & I started off the morning with a walk on the beach.
Then it was time for me to hit the pool {in my new bathing suit, which I shared on last week’s Friday Favorites}
Life at the adults only pool – Cain at the Cove – is pretty sweet.
Infinity pools & daybeds galore!
Not a bad way to spend the day.
Add in a Miami Vice {half strawberry daiquiri/half Pina colada} and the day just gets better!
After an hour or two by the pool, I headed out for a stroll along the beach.
Time for a photo op with the gorgeous water
And maybe a jumping shot or two {they are my favorite!}
Where is Charles in all these photos?
Well, while I spent Friday soaking up the sun, he spend time time at the links.
Charles had the opportunity to play at the Ocean Club Golf Course on Friday afternoon, so he spent some time killin’ it on the beautiful 18-hole course.
While he did his thing, I spent the afternoon checking out some of the fun water slides with friends.
The majority of the water activities – lazy river, body slides, river rides & more – are located between the Royal Towers & The Cove.
A few of my favorites are The Challenger body slide – in which you race down the twin slides on the back of the Mayan Temple.
The other side of the Mayan Temple is the Leap of Faith slide which features a 60 ft. almost-vertical drop from the top. It propels riders at a tremendous speed through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon.
Yeah, personally that slide scares the crap out of me. I’m not the biggest fan of heights and a slide that goes just about straight down into a pool of sharks, isn’t for me. But I do think its really cool to look at & awesome for the people that go down it, but I’m a wimp when it comes to stuff like that.
{Side Note: a few years ago one of those sharks jumped out of the shark pool & into the slide itself. Sadly, the shark died, since it went into a pool filled with chlorine – feel free to check out the whole story here.}
But inside the Mayan Temple there is another tube slide with goes throughout the inside of the temple & comes out next to the Leap of Faith slide. This slide is more my style – it’s called the Serpent Slide – on this five-story corkscrew slide, you travel on a tube at high speeds through the darkness of the Mayan Temple’s core. The twisting and turning ride culminates with a leisurely pass through a clear acrylic tunnel submerged in a shark-filled lagoon.
See the tubes behind the shark?
The other cool thing is that there is a viewing area for everyone to see the people going through the slides & sharks swimming around them.
The Leap of Faith & the Serpent Slide come out next to each other.
Check out Mickey & Laura coming out the Serpent Slide!
Those are just a few of my favorite slides, but there are so many more to choose from! Aquaventure, Atlantis Paradise Island’s water park, is a 141-acre waterscape with complimentary admission for over-night guests at Atlantis.
This non-stop aquatic thrill ride features over twenty million gallons of water, incredible Atlantean-themed towers, thrilling high-speed water slides, a mile-long river ride with rolling rapids and wave surges, 20 swimming areas, a spectacular kids water-play fort and 11 unique and refreshing swimming pools—connected by a lush, tropical environment that is both immersive and interconnected.
I personally, could stay on the Lazy River for days {and days!}
After all the water fun, it was time for a Kalik, poolside.
And time for a little more sun time before heading out for the night!

Looks like alot of fun – Loved your bathing suit too!
SO jealous! What a gorgeous place!
Love the bathing suit and the black dress/coverup! May I ask where you found it? 🙂
Hey Emily – The coverup was a gift from a friend, but I think she got it at Macy’s? I’ve had it for a few years! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks Leslie! 🙂
Just curious what sunglasses those are? So cute!
Hey Whit – Here is the link to the sunglasses, I love them! Let me know if you have any other questions – http://bit.ly/WTRggP
On the marketplace I see Li-Ion (good point
of this type is long life), Ni-MH, Ni-Cd and more. This is actually privately owned, so to some extent, it is a mom and pop shop.
This is a great home improvement idea for those that live
in areas with dark winter months.
