So, when I decided to move forward with the 3 Day Juice Cleanse, my main concern was keeping the cost down. If I was going to do this at home, I wanted to make sure I could do it for {a lot!} less I would spend just having 18 juices delivered to my doorstep.
Testing all the recipes out beforehand was a great gauge for me to be able to prepare for how much fruits and vegetables I would be needing to make each juice. I spent last weekend doing the math and preparing for a slightly large grocery store shopping trip. I initially thought I would hit up Reading Terminal Market for the best deals, but a last minute change of plans ended up with me shopping at Wegman’s.
So here is what I ended up getting for the cleanse. I purchased a little bit MORE than I knew I would need, because I didn’t want to run out of anything. I also wanted to get some extras, because I knew I would be continuing to juice post cleanse. The only thing I didn’t have to purchase was cinnamon.
One thing else you should know -> The majority of the juices I have made have been slightly larger than the Catalyst or BluePrint Cleanse options – each of their juices are 16 oz, while mine have been 20 – 24oz {filled up in my favorite mason jar glasses}
Charles initially thought that $89 for 3 days of juicing was a lot of money, but then I did a little cleanse cost comparison & broke it down by day & by juice compared to BluePrint & Catalyst.
In the end, my DIY cleanse was a lot cheaper than ordering the juices & having them delivered. Breaking down the cost per juice made me the most excited – under $5 for a freshly juiced juice is a pretty good deal!
I also like to think that making each juice in my own kitchen, with my own juicer makes each drink fresher & the benefits of each juice are greater – has to be the case, right?
So there you have it – the cost of MY 3 Day Juice Cleanse. I am sure, you could get the prices down even lower if you really wanted to!

{Side Note: the receipt above says $61.39 but there were $19 in additional costs on another receipt.}
And I thought everyone should know the 2 bags of carrots {5 lbs each!} are about the same size as Jackson.

I think you did great shopping at Wegman’s – under $5.00 is less than you would spend on one coffee at Starbucks. I bet if you found an Asian market in the area you could have purchased the fruits/veggies for alot less to or shopped at Costco/BJs. You should be very proud of yourself – great job – well done!
I loved this. I have been very bad to my body this winter and should probably treat it to a cleanse, especially since I put on a bathing suit the other day and was less than pleased with the reflection in the mirror. I need a jump start. The cost break down was very informative, and shows how affordable a juice cleanse can be comparatively. Thank you so much for the inspiration! Hope all is well.
Judy – You should totally give your body a little jumpstart!
Thank you for sharing this and all your recipes. I keep thinking I really should give my body a break and do a three day cleanse. Can’t wait to hear how yours turns out.
Totally Melissa!
It’s awesome to try out!
So my husband has this fear of raw beets burning your throat, because after eating one raw, his throat was raw for about 3 days. I have no issues with juicing my beets and wondered if you or anyone else you’ve heard from had this issue. Maybe he’s just allergic?
Hey Tara – I don’t like beets much myself either, but I know they are good for me so I try to have them whenever I can. I haven’t had any issues like that personally, maybe try juicing a little at a time and go from there? A lot at a time can be a bit much, but some people really like beets – I’m just not one of them! Obviously, have him go to the doctor if his throat bothers him again! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Certainly wish I could have seen this sooner! I’m currently cleansing with high priced juices but I will be using this in the future!
I’m trying it Leslie!! Just spent two hours making all the juice, will start tomorrow! I am trying the spicy lemonade now…. I like it! Great for appetite control!
So awesome Kate! Let me know how it goes! You are going to rock it!
I am slow on replying to this but you have totally inspired me to do a 3 day juice cleanse next week! I was planning on paying a ton to do a professional one now I don’t have to.
Did you prep your juices ahead of time? Thanks!
Hey Aly,
I prepped some of the morning juices together – since its easier to juice everything at once. I kept everything in mason jars to make sure everything stayed fresh! Let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks for reading! – Leslie
Hello! Love your info; very helpful, but how can I get each juice recipe?
I try to purchase the Blueprint cleanser juice but they don’t ship to Puerto Rico and I need wise options!
Click on each juice picture in her blog and it pulls up a new page with the recipe, ut you’ll have to to click on each juice pic individually to get the recipes. 🙂
I am totally excited about this. I have never juiced before but I am going to start tomorrow. Thanks for all the info.
Hey Leslie!
I just came across your 3 day cleanse blog, and I am wanting to start it this weekend 🙂 I was wondering, did you find 20 – 24oz of juice to be too much? I’m trying to figure out how I could make each juice 32oz so that I can make two juices (16oz each) for husband and I, or if the 20 – 24oz amount was good 6x a day 🙂
Also did you find you lost any weight or inches with this??
Thanks so much!!
Hi Kristy – So exciting! I preferred having more juice because it always really filled me up, which is why I made so much. I did lose weight but it was just water weight really – it was more a cleanse for my body to “reboot” than anything else.
Good luck & feel free to email me if you have any questions!
Personally, for me, it’s worth the extra $6 a bottle to have someone else shop, prep and clean up. I’m self-employed and found preparing/juicing a huge pain.
I absolutely love the way I feel and look since doing a juice cleanse. I’m about 25lbs overweight and lost 6lbs. I continue to have at least one juice a day as a meal replacement.
Hi buddy,
I just read your blog. The post you shared awesome! Please give me suggestions on how can I lose my weight?
