This morning I did Yoga on the Steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum with over 1,000 other Philly area Yogi’s!
Yoga on the Steps is the Signature fundraising event for Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC). The event provides a way for individuals and teams to join their local communities in supporting women affected by breast cancer – all while experiencing the healing benefits of yoga.
We arrived at the Philadelphia Art Museum at 8:30 this morning ready to get our Yoga on the Steps on!
It started out a little bit gloomy out, but the rain held off the entire morning
I got to practice right next to the Rocky footprints!
I was at the event with a bunch of lululemon girls, it was awesome to be there with friends!
We had some time to kill once we secured our spots on the steps so we decided to have some fun in front of the Art Museum.
Gorgeous scenery if I do say so myself!
And what’s a morning out without some jumping shots?!
Wooohooo!
Around 9:30 the event got started, right around the same time the clouds started to lift from Center City.
This event was packed with breast cancer survivors and friends of loved ones who have been affected by the disease.
Did I mention we had a great view of the Parkway? Great view, great cause, no rain = a wonderful morning!
Check out the dude in the speedo!
The yoga practice was really awesome because there were live musicians playing music the entire time, which made everything very calming.
My favorite part of the event was after every new pose was called out, a breast cancer survivor would come up to the microphone and share her story.
It was very emotional to hear these brave women share their experiences living with and fighting the cancer in their bodies.
We held each posture for a long time while each story was being shared – it was a tough workout too!
There were also teachers walking around giving adjustments, which are always welcome, in my opinion!
The Warrior Poses were a continuing theme throughout the day.
I also enjoyed when we sat down on our mats for some poses, it allowed me to really take in the day, and the view!
Poses with a buddy were fun too!
But savasana is always my one true love!
It was a fabulous morning at Yoga on the Steps!

After my morning yoga, I had two things on my brain: honeymoon planning and breakfast! So Charles and I set out to Manayunk in search of mimosas!
We ended up at Derek’s and I think this sign pretty much says it all:
Unlimited Mimosas for me and Bloody Mary’s for Charles? We are IN! I brought along with me some of our travel guides for the upcoming honeymoon. We wanted to do a little research and plan out what we really wanted to see and do in each place we would be visiting. It was so much more fun to do this with adult beverages in hand – it made the upcoming trip more exciting and real!
Charles got the smoked salmon
And I got the goat cheese and asparagus omelet.
Both dishes were amazing. I heart brunch!
We have spent the rest of our day packing and organizing for the busy week ahead!
Stay tuned for a jam-packed, fun-filled And Her Little Dog Too wedding week!
Can you believe I am getting married next Saturday?
