A Kale Bouquet Kind of Day

I love visiting Reading Terminal Market!  Every time I go I always tell myself that I don’t go enough and that I need to take advantage of this awesome place being so close to where I live!

I went with two of my favorite Philly friends – Melissa and Lauren –who are not only my blog buddies, but also now classmates!  We were in search of some fun produce and that’s exactly what we found!

Lauren found a massive sweet potato! Have you ever seen a sweet potato this big before? They were huge!

Pretty produce all around! I have been to Reading Terminal Market a few times before but I have never bought produce here before. Believe me, that will now change! I love this market area!

IMG_8493

The prices were seriously amazing. Seriously, $1.00 for a packet of strawberries! Such an amazing deal!

Melissa thought so too!

I purchased something I have never bought before at the market – KALE! I have heard amazing things throughout the blog world, so I figured I better give it a try!

Or maybe I could just use it as a Kale Bouquet for my wedding!

Again, the Kale was super cheap.

I also picked up some yummy Brussels sprouts! I can’t wait to make this recipe again! AH- mazing!

Did I mention everything was beyond cheap? Look at everything I got – Kale, Brussels sprouts, strawberries, 4 limes and 3 lemons!

  IMG_8504

All that good stuff for $5.00! I could save so much $$$ by shopping here instead of a grocery store! I need to go here weekly!

After our tour of the produce department in Reading Terminal we decided to take a leisurely stroll on into Blue Mountain Vineyards to check out some vino.

We also did a little tasting action as well. I really enjoyed their dry red wine selections!

I even bought a bottle! I love me some cab sav!

Side Note – I want this coffee mug! My inner nerd enjoys it!

If all that fun wasn’t enough for you, Lauren and I then decided to head out for a beer to Dos Segundos in Northern Liberties for Happy Hour. I love a friend that will blog, run, eat and drink with me!! Lauren you are awesome!

Dos Segundos had a pretty sweet happy hour deal. We also enjoyed some amazing chips and dip!

Possibly my new favorite beer – Lagunitas Sumpin’ Sumpin’ Ale.

I love lazy afternoons with friends!

Can't wait to go to the Reading Market again! It's really nice to have friends to play with in the afternoon, i.e., Happy Hour…You seriously need to shop for produce/fruits there more often and save money for more fun things!
