Sorry I went MIA yesterday. I took a early morning train from Philadelphia to DC because I am spending the weekend in Virginia for Michele’s wedding! I came down early yesterday morning because Michele and I had lots of last minute errands to run and a few things to finish up before the big day!
I was happy to come down a day early and help out in any way I could. It has been rough being Maid of Honor for Michele’s Wedding and living 2 hours away in Philadelphia. I feel like I haven’t been able to help out with everything I would have wanted to, but it was nice to come down early and spend some quality time with the bride before she becomes a Mrs. tomorrow!
Another fun part about our busy day yesterday was that I got to take Michele out for one last single girl’s night out! We went to one of our favorite restaurants in Virginia – Coastal Flatts.
I love this place! It’s close to my house, has indoor and outdoor dining options and great food/drink options!
I always attack the bread basket! It’s amazing.
Michele and I ordered a round of drinks! We were celebrating her last night out as an engaged lady! She enjoyed a pomegranate mojito.
I enjoyed a classic mojito. I love these things! I even had them as the signature drink at our engagement party!
Marry Me Mojito anyone?
I am ready to take on my Maid of Honor duties!
Fresh mint & Sugar cane = awesome!
For dinner I got the same exact meal I get EVERY TIME I come here. Last time I went with Michele I got it, and the time before that when I went with my dad it was the same meal.
Why mess with a good thing?
The Blue Crab and Rock Shrimp Fritters are amazing.
And the arm Goat Cheese and Spiced Pecan Salad is divine.
It was great to catch up and get excited about the wedding together!
This morning Michele and I woke up and went on a little run. She pounded out 4 miles and I killed 5. It was a nice way to start out the weekend festivities – with a nice little sweat!
It was super SUPER hot out! It was a seriously hot and sweaty run.
After the run I noticed my neighbors sprinklers were on so I decided to go on a little jog through the water!
It was the perfect way to cool down on a hot summer day!
I felt like a kid again running through the sprinklers. It was awesome!
After our run (and a quick shower!) it was time to head out with the rest of the bridal party to get our nails done! The bride treated us to manicures and pedicures!
The we all went out to lunch at Glory Days. I got the Berry Chicken Salad which had strawberries, blueberries, blue cheese, nuts, spinach and chicken. It was a good salad but it had WAY too much dressing on it so I didn’t eat too much!
I always forget to get dressing on the side! Grrr!
Then we headed out to run a few more errands and got a sneak peak at the flowers for tomorrow! Everyone is getting very excited!
Tonight is the rehearsal dinner so I have to go get ready!

Have a great time at the wedding! I love Coastal Flats and all the Sweetwater restaurants in VA. It's one of the things I miss most about living up there.
I have grown fond of a good mojito over the past year, yours looks great, I could use one after a long week!
Have a great time at the wedding and congrats to your friend!
So funny to read about Glory Days in a blog! I grew up about 5 minutes from there 🙂
Love the sprinkler photos – Glad you were able to spend some quality GIRL time with Michele.
