Boston, Baby!

This week fiancé and I are taking a mini-vacation up to Boston – and I couldn’t be more excited! We are heading up bright and early Thursday morning and will be staying until Monday night.

Fiancé’s brother is graduating from college in Boston and when we were making plans to go up for the occasion and decided to make a long weekend out of it!

Long weekends are the best, aren’t they?

I have only been to Boston twice  and they were years ago for a short period of time. I definitely need suggestions as to where to go and what to do! We are staying in the Back Bay area, which I believe is a good location. I would love to know if you have any Boston “must-do’s” for me and fiancé! Please share!

I also hope to meet up with some of my Boston blogger friends while I am there too. Plans are in the works! If you want in on the fun let me know -  Shoot me an email. I love meeting bloggers and readers!

Long weekends really are the best! You get away just long enough to feel fully relaxed.

I've only been to Boston once. I was so young though that I hardly remember any of it! I'd love to go back someday.

Try and walk some of the ethnic neighborhoods and see the cemetery – pretty awesome! Don't forget to have a drink at CHEERS (the once famous TV show from the 70's). Are you visiting your Boston friends from Australia too?

Quincy Market is a classic Boston area you guys could walk around and check out with lots of shops and restaurants. There's this old restaurant called Durgin Park that my family used to go to on Boston trips. They have awesome corn bread and we always used to get the Poor Man's Roast Beef for lunch (really good prime rib). http://www.arkrestaurants.com/durgin_park.html
I also like the Cambridge (Harvard) area, and there's an awesome restaurant called Fire and Ice there.

The Boston Aquarium is another fun place to check out when in Boston.
Have a great time! I'm jealous! I'm a New Englander and haven't been up to my "home city" in a while!

My fiancee and I love Boston, that is where we got engaged after all! We're lucky enough to only live 45 minutes north of the area. And I would totally be interested in a blogger meet-up. I'll shoot you an email.

Hubby and I just went to Boston to visit friends last month. Since your fiance likes beer, I would say make a trip to Sam Adams. You can get there on the T and it worth the trip, you get a free glass and a tasting lesson!
