Optic Nerve

I think you all know by now that I enjoy running. I like running just to run, running for fun and running (dominating) races. I really like blogging about my running because I love sharing my different experiences with the blog world! I love everyone’s support and I also love learning from everyone else’s trials too! I also love getting to try out new running gear for review on my site!

This week I am reviewing some sweet shades from Optic Nerve

March 192

I was sent to review the Eyeque PM shades in Matte Metallic Smoke.

March 193March 195

I have honestly never worn shades like this where you can see through the shades to my eyes so easily. They took a bit of getting used to at first, but that all changes in the blink of an eye!March 212

I love the color of the glasses, I wanted something that would go with all my running outfits, because I like to coordinate like that, and these are perfect! These glasses offer 100% UV protection too.

filter out 100% UVA, B and C rays and are constructed with high impact polycarbonate materials. Our frames are made with durable TR90 resins or hypo-allergenic nickel silver. Every pair of Optic Nerve sunglasses and goggles provides impact resistance, optical clarity, style, and UV protection

I have had these glasses for a few weeks and took them on a bunch of runs with me so far and they have been great. I took them on a run with me a week or so again and snapped some pictures.

Its amazing how different Kelly Drive looks in a matter of days, with a bit of warm weather. Now there is so much green on the ground! It looks like such a different place!

March 259

Ok, back to the Optic Nerve glasses – the best part about these shades are that they are Photomatic.

Do you know what that means? I didn’t, but it means that the lens get darker as the UV light outside gets stronger. So you can see from the picture below that the lenses are lots darker than the pictures above.

My eyes are fully protected. Thumbs up for that! March 260

Another pretty run in Philadelphia. March 261

Its so nice to run right up to the Philadelphia skyline!

March 266

I am new to running with sunglasses. I have always been a runner that just throws on a hat and then heads out the door, but running with glasses have changed my life! It’s very comfortable and they feel great. I also enjoy getting a little Vitamin D on my face!

(don’t worry, I lather up with sunscreen before I head out!)

March 265

Spring has finally sprung in Philadelphia and it feels fabulous!

March 267

They don't bounce around on your face or slide down your nose or anything? I've never been one to run in either sunglasses or a hat. I sweat so much I always feel like a hat would make me hotter, and then I think about how when I ran track in hs we never used iPods, hats, sunglasses, or anything and I feel like a wussy, haha.

I was thinking about replacing my MJ's but maybe this would be better. Great review!

I always run with my sunglasses and I like to wear a hat, but sometimes my head gets too hot so I haven't been wearing it lately.

so this actually has very little to do with your post – but while I was just on my plane I was sitting there thinking "man, I hate how everyone loves Canon, because Nikon is the best but everyone is all weird about Canon" – and then I saw your Nikon and it made me smile.

Completely random, I know. People just don't realize -the REAL cool kids – have Nikon! 😉

Great review! I've always wondered how sunglasses stay on people when they run. I usually wear a hat on sunny days.

Philly is so beautiful in the Spring! Can I be in for the next Philly Foodie Meet Up even though I'm a Jersey girl???

If I don't wear a hat in the sun my head get's too hot. It heats up like crazy in the direct sunlight, so I like a hat.
I just started running and do it inside on a track, but with the season change… 😀
I'll have to try out sunglasses… and I like the adjustable darkness feature of the ones you've reviewed.

Love the sunglasses! I always wear sunglasses and usually a visor when I walk. Kelly Drive looks amazing this time of year! Have fun!
