Today was busy busy! I woke up bright and early this morning, packed my bags and headed up North to NYC! I took NJ Transit (because its SO much cheaper than Amtrak) and it was an easy ride.
On my way I had a Nature’s Path Chococonut granola bar. It was yummy! I love the chocolate and coconut combo.
I also enjoyed a Chobani pomegranate yogurt. This is by far my new favorite yogurt flavor. It had crunchy pomegranate arils and was so delish! En route to the city I started a new book – The Girls – Anyone ever read it? It’s about twin sisters conjoined at the head. It’s good!
After 2 hours in transit, a train switch and a short walk, I met up with Aileen at the NYC Half Marathon Expo. It was so much better than the expo last year! It was small, but had some good vendors and I always love checking out the different booths at these things!
Everyone was getting excited for the race tomorrow! Excitement was in the air for the perfect weather we are supposed to have! I am pumped to run in the sun!
I can’t wait to run my second NYC Half Marathon in 7 months! Woop Woop! It’s my first repeat of a race!
Have you ever repeated a race (aka – running the same race again or more than once)?
At the Expo, I also enjoyed a lovely Zico which I was given to try. Apparently they have come out with some new flavors, they were all pretty yummy!
After the Expo, Aileen and I hit up the closest bar we could find because we wanted to catch the end of the Villanova game.
Side note: No I DON’T want to talk about that loss…..
We ended up seeing the last few sad little minutes of the game. While we hung out in the bar, I enjoyed a lovely glass of H20! Hydration the day before a big race is key!
At the bar, Aileen and I met up with my future sister in law – Kate!
Hi Kate!
She is running her first half tomorrow too! I am so excited for her, I know she is going to rock it!
After that the three of us headed over to the Chelsea Market. None of us had ever been there before, but we were pleasantly surprised. It kind of reminded me of Reading Terminal Market, but way cooler!
While we were there, I had a hankering for some red velvet cake. I needed some cream cheese frosting in my life! So I picked up a piece at a bakery in the market. I had half of it then and the other half later tonight. It was heaven.
After the Market, Aileen and I walked around the city and enjoyed the beautiful day. Then, before you know it, it was time for dinner!
We headed over to Serafina for a blogger meet-up!
For dinner I enjoyed the spinach and ricotta ravioli. It was amazing. The perfect amount of glorious carbs before a race!
Topped with some parmesan cheese and pepper, served with a side of sparkling water.
Dori was the awesome organizer of the dinner. It was so great to finally meet her in person! She’s so sweet!
Other bloggers in attendance included: Lindsay, Kate, Dori, reader Melissa and me! It was so nice to meet everyone!
On the walk home I saw this cab and thought it could be the ending picture for today’s post. It could be the motto for the race tomorrow!
Good luck to all runners in the morning!
I’ll be back with a race recap tomorrow! Stay Tuned!

NJ Transit really makes it so easy to get to NY which as a girl living in Philly with a bf in NY is fortunate for me. I've become a pro at taking the train/subway ahha. Good luck tomorrow! Also, my sis goes to Nova and is super upset too, sorry bout the game, hey at least Kansas blew more.
good luck!
Cute pictures of us!! Loved finally meeting you, hope we can do it more!
The Girls is one of my favorite books of all time. I bought it for a lot of people!

Great photos of your blogger friends. Sounds like you all had a blast before the race.
