KettleWorX Review & Giveaway

A while back while I was on my trip I was sent a nice, big HEAVY box that fiance was nice enough to pick up for me. He was very confused as to what could be so heavy!

I was pleasantly surprised to open the box to find a Kettle ball and a bunch of KettleWorx DVD’s!

wicked 029

The lovely people at KettleWorX wanted me to try out their new programs, so they sent me 10 DVD’s and a 10 pound kettle bell! I had my work cut out for me!

wicked 028wicked 064

I received this package not even a month ago and I have done a bunch of the workouts so far. The DVD’s have 24 unique workouts and over 6 hours of personal training.

wicked 070

This was my first time using a kettle bell. My only experience with one was watching the contestants on the Biggest Loser use them! So at first I didn’t really know what I was doing, but after a few tries I got the hang of it!

Fiancé got some good action shots of me working it out!

wicked 072wicked 074

The program has a wide variety of exercises and movements with the kettle bell. Some are a lot harder than others!  I really like the KettleWorX program because it is a great alternative to combining  strength training and getting in some cardio at the same time. It was super easy to do at home when I didn’t have much time to work up a sweat!

wicked 099

With my 2 half marathon races planned for next month I have really been making an effort to increase my strength training, and this has been a great way for me to work on building up some muscle.

I have been working out muscles that haven’t been worked out in a while, and I have been feeling the pain after. You know that good soreness the next morning after a killer workout? I love that feeling!

wicked 095wicked 096

My favorite programs so far have been: Core, Cardio, Legs & Thighs and Fast Abs! It’s a whole new workout with a 10 pound kettlebell in your life!

wicked 097

I also really liked this program because I found there to be a wide variety of exercises. Some I had done before but need to incorporate in my workout plans more often, and others were tough for me and I need to work at improving my stance. I love a challenge!

wicked 101wicked 103

The KettleWorX program proclaims “Total Body Fitness in just 20 minutes, 3 times a week.” The program states this because it believes you are simultaneously working multiple sets of muscles at any given time during the variety of exercises.

Since you all know my love affair with running, I am not sure I could only do this workout and have it be enough for me, but I love to come back from a run and do a kettle bell workout! Its a nice incorporation into my exercise routine – and the 10 pound kettle bell has been perfect for me.

 wicked 111wicked 110

After a while I switched to a 12 pound weight!    wicked 080

Just kidding! But during the photo shoot, Jackson decided he wanted to get in on the fun, so we had to get a few pics with him!

wicked 081wicked 082

All in all I really like this program. It’s very different from any other home exercise DVD I own, and I love the resistance with the kettle bell! There are also so many DVDs with a ton of different exercises! It’s nice to change things up a bit!

The wonderful people at KettleWorX have offered to give an And Her Little Dog Too Reader an “Ultra Package” with either the 5 or 10 lb kettlebell based on what weight is best for the winner.

Side Note: Jackson NOT included 🙂

This package includes: KettleWorx Ultra starts with the "Six Week Body Transformation" – an easy, step-by-step program that guides you through six weeks of personal training. 4 DVDs: Intro, Cardio, Core, Resistance.

Since I have gotten to be quite a bit overweight over the years, and living in Maine I am not physically active very much in the winter months, this program would be a really neat way to get me motivated to start thinking healthy again!

I have wanted to try kettlebells for quite some time and have never had the opportunity. I think it would be great to be able to do some kettlebell workouts after running. Once I am finished with my run, I don't feel like going to the gym to do weights, but if I had the stuff at home…

I would use this to get in shape for the upcoming lacrosse season, as well as my wedding in June! What a fun way to stay in shape especially with all this snow! I often neglect the weights in the winter and just run so this would be a nice addition to the workout schedule! Love it!
