An Acai Green Monster

***Another blog update! I have added an “All About Running Section on the left hand side of the blog! I wanted to put everything running related all in one place. This section includes Race Recaps, Favorite Products, Running Routes and More! Check it out here and let me know what you think!"***

Anywho, another crazy Tuesday in my little world! The only thing I am enjoying about my school schedule is that I have my longest and busiest day on Tuesday. Last semester I had everything on Thursdays and the week seemed to drag on. Now all my craziness is over the first day of classes! So when today is over its smooth sailing for the rest of the week! Win!

The only way to start my busy day off on the right foot is a big old green monster!

The wonderful people over at Perfect Acai sent me some to try in my morning monsters! Acai is one of the highest rated antioxidant fruits in the world. So its pretty much the perfect addition to my monsters. When I smelled the acai it smelled like tea to me, so I was interested to see what it would taste like in my green creation!

Here are some benefits of acai from the website:

  • Essential Vitamins and Minerals – Including Iron and Calcium
  • Omega 3, 6 and 9
  • 10 times the antioxidant power of red grapes
  • Double the antioxidant power of blueberries
  • 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine
  • Dietary Fiber
  • Amino Acids

Some more from the website: According to some research, the nutrients found in the açai berry have been attributed to everything from slowing the aging process and warding off cancer to preventing heart disease, while contributing to overall health and wellness in these important ways:

    • Increases energy
    • Anti-inflammatory
    • Enhances immune systems
    • Promotes healthy skin
    • Improves libido
    • Aids weight loss
    • Promotes healthy sleep

The Perfect Acai gave my monster a hint of berry flavor! It was quite lovely! It also made my green monster a little darker than normal, but with all those extra nutrients, it was a welcome change in color!

I enjoyed my monster with a slice of Vermont Bread Company white toast with some peanut butter on top! The perfect breakfast, if you ask me!

I'm going to have to check out that product. We've been using Acai juice in our smoothies. It really seems to help my daughter get relief from nerve damage.
