Yellow Honeydew and Oats

Check out this bad boy I got at the Farmers Market the other day. Beach 155

It’s a gorgeous yellow honeydew! How pretty is it? I love the color and texture! I have never tried one before, so when I found it at the Farmers Market, I was excited to be brave and try something new! Beach 156

Check out the inside: It came with a TON of seeds. I felt like I should have saved them and put them to use SOMEHOW, but it just all got too messy. Anyone have any suggestions for what to do with leftover yellow honeydew seeds?

A honeydew melon’s weight is 90% water, and it has the same amount of potassium as an average sized banana. These qualities make the honeydew helpful in maintaining high blood pressure! It also is good for healthy skin because it is filled with Vitamin C!

Seriously, how pretty is that?!

It tastes just as good as it looks! It tasted like a combination of a regular green melon and a cantaloupe.

What a cute little breakfast bowl!

This morning’s breakfast was filled with TONS of nutritious fruit! Along with my honeydew I sliced up a peach and a kiwi.

I made some stovetop oats, tossed in the fruit, added some peanut butter and put it all in a pretty bowl! Then it was time for my breakfast photo shoot.

This oats bowl was inspired by Rose, all that was missing was a lobster placemat! 🙂 I wasn’t sure how i was going to feel about the peach/kiwi combination at first, but it was quite nice. I enjoyed the sweet and sour combination and the peanut butter obviously made everything fabulous!

Lots to do today! I am having a special lunch with another new-to-Philly blogger today! She just got married and moved here with her Philly Boy. Her and PB are also running the Philly Half Marathon, and she likes to tests things! Any guesses on who I am meeting?? 🙂

This is my first time meeting a blogger friend, in real life! I am excited!

Whoa, I've never even seen a yellow honeydew. That's so cool! I want one now. xD I don't even like honeydew very much. Cantaloupe is always much juicier.

I found them at a flea market on our vacation in Ft Myers, FL. They are so great!!!! I’m saving the seeds and will try to grow them. We bought another one the last day and it made the ride home in the car for 2 1/2 days.
