Last night I was able to go to an advance screening of Miss March which comes out today. Free Stuff Times provided the tickets from Fox Searchlight. Did I mention I heart Free Stuff Times? Best. Thing. Ever. Check it out right now for free stuff!
It was awesome to be able to go and see a show before it came out. I felt mildly important. I brought along my friend Mich, and we enjoyed the movie. It was very funny, we laughed the whole time.
Here is the IMDB synopsis: Eugene (Zach Cregger) and Tucker (Trevor Moore) are best friends in high school. Tucker is obsessed with girls and Playboy magazines, while Eugene believes in abstinence. Eugene’s girlfriend (Raquel Alessi), however, thinks she’s ready. After she pressures him, he reluctantly agrees to have sex with her on prom night. When the night finally arrives, Eugene gets understandably nervous. Tucker remedies this by getting his friend super drunk. In his drunken stupor, Eugene accidentally goes through the wrong door and falls down a flight of stairs, resulting in a four-year coma. Eventually, he wakes up to realize that the world that he knew is gone. Most of his friends have left his hometown, and his girlfriend has become a Playboy bunny. With the help of Tucker, he decides to embark on a cross-country roadtrip and get back the girl of his dreams.
This is not the kind of movie I would normally go to see. Movies are expensive these days and I don’t want to waste my money seeing a crappy one. A lot of the times I think these ‘funny’ movies turn out more stupid than anything. But we laughed and had a good time. There were parts in the movie that left you saying “Did that just really happen?” because some of the events were just over the top. Maybe parts were even offensive/crude, but you can’t take a movie like this seriously. Sometimes its fun to go to a movie and just laugh it up with your friends. It was an hour and a half long, which is the perfect amount of time for a comedy. It was cool, I may rent it when it comes out on video because I think boyf would think it was funny.
